IMT – Institute of metals and technology

We cooperate with IMT on project Young researchers from the economy – generation 2008.
At this tender, we were successful with two candidates from Kosovo. They are employed in Laboratory LOTRIČ, where they perform 20% of research work, and the other 80% they perform at IMT. Their research mentor is Dr. Janez Šetina, senior researches, researcher at IMT; their development mentor is Mr. Marko Lotrič, manager of the company LOTRIČ d.o.o.
They are also in their doctor studies at the Jožef Štefan International Postgraduate School, program Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies. Nanosciences present a new field, which researches nature and use of systems with component of nanometric size. It includes a series of scientific areas with potential application in almost every branch of the economy. The basic goal of nanosciences is to understand structure and dynamics of materials on the atom and molecular level, on which their macroscopic attributes base.

Staff with knowledge on metrology with doctor title is almost impossible to acquire, therefore the only option is to educate staff on our own, which would not be possible without the help of this tender.

The project is co-funded by the European Union, European Social Fund.

We have also cooperated with IMT on projects Development and validation of calibration of environment pressure in industry and Method for testing pressure equipment for sterilization in health care, pharmaceutical and food industry, both of which have been completed successfully.
